This month marks the anniversary for two long standing members of the team. Karen Tinkler (pictured below left) and Anneliese Marshall have been with the company for 20 and 15 years respectively.

Karen Tinkler and Anneliese Marshall

Karen joined Partners in 1999 as an account executive and later formed part of the management team that bought the business in 2006, from Partners PR founder Hugh Venables. Read more about Karen’s 20 years at Partners here.

Anneliese joined the business in 2004 as PA to Hugh. After his retirement, Anneliese became PA to the new owners – Karen and Monica – and supports the rest of the team with her admin, supplier liaison and project management skills.

She said: “Over the last 15 years, I have seen many changes within the company - the MBO, the staff, the décor – all of which have had their challenges. The role of a PA in a smaller company is more than just making drinks, diary management and filing - although it has been asked when I have ever done any of the latter!

“Throughout my time here I have developed my skills by completing a number of training courses, from advanced Excel to project management, all of which have been a great help in my day to day job. I have many hats to wear in my role, including event management for clients’ celebrations or corporate hospitality events, IT and telephone system administrator, print management and building maintenance. It’s all in a day’s work. But being a PA often means people think you have all the answers, so you find that Google is the on-hand, go-to font of all knowledge on any given subject.

“It’s not all work and no play though. I’ve also had the opportunity to partake in various activities such as our 25th anniversary Yorkshire Three Peaks charity challenge, a chocolate making workshop, dungeon visits, cookery classes, brewery tours and days at the races, all of which have strengthened the bond with the great bunch of creative, talented people I have the privilege to work with.”

Karen said: “It’s a pleasure working with Anni and the rest of the team, many of whom have been with the company for a large part of their careers. Having a stable team helps us to deliver a great service to our clients as we retain knowledge and understanding of their businesses, which results in great partnerships.”
